Utah Travel Weather
The Climate of Utah
This gem of the southwest offers four distinct seasons. Hot days and cool nights in the summer play against the cold, snowy winter nights in the northern mountains that beg for a cup of hot chocolate. If you love beautiful sunrises and sunsets, you could hardly ask for a better place to relocate than Utah. The mountains offer tremendous adventure opportunities and world-class winter resorts when the snow starts to fall.
Desert Travel
Wildflowers paint the landscape while thunderstorms cool off the summer afternoons. Bring your camera, as Utah offers a bright landscape unlike any other in the United States from Arches National Park to Dinosaur National Monument. The nights cool off quickly though, even after summer days reaching into the 100s, so make sure and pack a sweater or jacket when you plan your desert hikes.
Hot Springs and Olympic Skiing
Salt Lake City offers perfect variety in climate from season to season: skiing in the winter and early spring, mild fall temperatures, and hot, sunny summer days. The low foothills give the traveler hiking options, hidden hot springs, and one of the best autumn foliage displays in the west. St. George in the south is Utah's "Dixie" due to its temperate climate and mild weather. Park City in the north is home to ski and summer resorts alike, as well as host to the annual Sundance Film Festival. When planning your travel across the West make sure to spend plenty of time in "Utah!"
