Medical professional occupations will see a strong growth over the next decade in Colorado, according to the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education.  Colorado faces shortages in a number of different health-related fields, including nurses with expected increased demands of 26.4%, physical therapists with expected increased demands of 34% and physician assistants by 48%.  Demand for doctors will grow by 26% and occupational therapists by 41%.  This increase is largely fueled by the aging baby boomer generation who will need increasing health services during their retirement, and of course health professionals of this age group will retire themselves, decreasing the number of professionals in the health services.

Healthcare degree programs are the best way to make sure that the health service in this State is provided with the staff they need to be able to deliver good healthcare.  You can become a part of the professions that do most to improve the quality of our lives by taking a degree in one of the healthcare specialisms.  Programs provide entry into careers as nurses, doctors, dentists, laboratory technicians of all kinds, medical and dental assistants, physiotherapists and other areas of therapy, and healthcare administrators.  A degree is necessary for all of these careers; explore the programs available online.
