Business Office Information Technology Programs and Degrees

If you are interested in applying information technology skills to the operation of an office, then one of the many business office information technology programs and degrees may be right for you. Programs available to you include certifications, diplomas, and degrees.

With a certification program, such as the Microsoft Certified Professional Certificate (MCP), you'll earn a certificate demonstrating that you're skilled in a specific business office technology domain. The MCP, for instance, shows that you can implement a Microsoft product or technology for a business office. Such a certificate can get you an entry-level job or allow you to advance within an organization.

A diploma program gives you skills in a specific area, such as help desk support, computer networking, or medical office administration. An associate's degree program gives you skills in a broader area, such as network engineering, office technologies, or business administration. Both programs can get you entry-level positions. You can sometimes apply an associate's degree towards a bachelor's degree.

A bachelor's degree program, which usually takes longer to complete than an associate's program, will introduce you to the theory behind the technology. Examples of bachelor's programs include Computer Science and Business and Management Technology. Many companies require employees to have bachelor's degrees.
