Computer/Engineering Technology Schools and Degrees

The nerves of our society are electronic circuits. The muscles of our economy are run by electronic and computer controls. As a result, people who can build, install, test, evaluate and maintain electronic circuits and computer equipment are in high demand.

You can be one of them through coursework at an electronic computer/engineering technology school. You'll gain expertise in areas such as using specialized test equipment, unique PC hardware and software tools, and systems documentation and schematics. Coursework can include topics like semiconductors, digital and analog electronics, industrial controls, linear circuit applications and microprocessor fundamentals. Along with technical subjects, you'll typically get additional education in critical subjects such as mathematics, science, and interpersonal communications.

Graduates have the technology skills that are vital to maintaining the electronic infrastructure of almost any field, from healthcare to transportation, from industry to agriculture, from telecommunications to entertainment. Typically you'll support a larger team. You might find yourself involved in anything from product design to industrial automation, from technical sales support to project management or customer service. Helping to make electronic and computer systems run better and run continuously is an appreciated role that makes everyone else's work easier.
