CompTIA (Computer Technology Industry Association) I-Net+ Certification and Education
CompTIA is a shortened name for the Computer Technology Industry Association. This is a global association dedicated to advancing the growth of IT and IT expertise. According to the CompTIA's website, “the i-Net+ certification is the worldwide standard of foundational-level competency in knowledge of Internet, Intranet and Extranet technologies.”
“The i-Net+ certification,” CompTIA says, “is recognized as a baseline technical knowledge specifically designed to certify entry-level Internet and e-commerce technical professionals. Those holding i-Net+ certification demonstrate knowledge and competency in Internet basics and clients, development, networking, Internet security and business concepts.”
For many businesses, looking for I-Net+ certification offers a way to thin out a large stack of IT job applicants. Requirements for the certificate were developed with input from major industry players such as IBM, Intel, Microsoft and Novell.
