Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator Certification and Education

The Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) credential is for professionals who have the skills to successfully implement a Microsoft product or technology as part of a business solution in an organization. MCP status can lead to further qualifications such as MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator).

The Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certification is a mid point between MCP and the full Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) for those administering systems who don't need the full knowledge offered by the MCSE. It will advance your career by ensuring you have the skills to successfully manage and troubleshoot system environments running on the Microsoft Windows operating system.

The Microsoft Certified Systems Administration (MCSA) credential is a new way to enhance and validate the skills you use in day-to-day management of Microsoft technologies. MCSAs earn credibility because they are more efficient. They can manage a greater number of systems, with less server downtime. All exams count towards the MCSE certification and you can choose the elective that best meets your needs and professional goals. MCSA candidates are required to pass three core exams and one elective exam in your area of specialization.

Once achieved, you have a recognized, respected certification and the opportunity to move on up. In 2003, Microsoft Certified Professional Magazine recorded the salary for an MCSE at $59,000.
