Certified System Administrator (SCSA) Certification and Education
If you are an information technology professional who administers a Solaris system, or a networked server running on Solaris, Sun Certified System Administrator (SCSA) certification and education can help your career. According to Sun, the goal of the certification is to enable the IT professional to take full advantage of the features and functionality of the Solaris operating system. The exam is administered in two parts. Both parts must be passed in order to gain the certificate. The certification validates an IT professional's knowledge and skills including the ability to mange file systems, install software, perform system boot procedures, perform user and security administration, manage network printers and system processes, and perform system backups and restores.
According to the Department of Labor's Occupational Outlook Handbook, computer systems administrators will be one of the fastest growing occupations through the year 2012. Although there are many methods of entering the field, the Department of Labor suggests that certifications and practical experience for IT professionals without college degrees are essential.* Even individuals who have a computer science degree can benefit from certification. Sun Certified System Administrator Certification and education demonstrates that you have the most up-to-date skills and knowledge, giving you a competitive advantage.
