Colleges in Michigan
Michigan colleges are famous for many things: cold winters, football, Greek life, and academic excellence. If any or all of these appeal to you, then you should add Michigan schools and universities to your list of places to study. During football season, it is almost impossible to live in the "Wolverine State" and not catch pig skin fever. And for many students, sororities and fraternities are as much a part of the collegiate experience as any classrooms or term papers ever could be. Although the latter will certainly form a substantial part of your university career.
Some people are turned off by the notoriously brutal winters that plague Michigan colleges and universities. However, the cold has a bonding effect that manages to bring people together. Except for the occasional stadium football game, you will not need to go outside very much. Expect to spend many nights and weekends in sports bars cheering on your favorite team over a few pints of beer (but not before your schoolwork is all finished).
Distance Learning Degrees
If you find that you cannot take the winters, you could always opt for online schools. Distance learning degrees allow you to stay nestled in your warm cozy house or apartment without having to suffer through daily campus commutes. Online schools are further advantageous because they offer flexibility with regards to class scheduling and attendance. In addition, online schools are traditionally cheaper than regular campus programs. For working professionals, budget students, stay at-home parents, and part-time scholars, distance learning programs may be an excellent option.
