Symbols: Birds & Flowers, 50 States
On April 14, 1982, the United States Postal Service issued the Birds and Flowers of the Fifty States Stamps commemorating the official State Bird and Flower of each state. Designed by legendary wildlife painter Arthur Singer and his gifted son, Alan, these stunning U.S. stamps are combined with art created by the stamp designers.
Find near facsimiles of these states' birds and flowers pictures as they appeared on these postal stamps. Also, provided are additional pictures of the state flowers. Included is a brief history of both the birds and flowers.
View pictures of other state's symbols and seal, with details of their history and adoption from links at SHG - States on the Web.
